Have you ever heard someone say, "We have 4 seasons; fall, winter, spring, and August."? If you have ever lived in or visited a northern region on this planet, chances are you have heard at least a variation. I have always found it funny how each region tells the joke with an honest feeling of authenticity.

Well this year, we honestly have lived those 4 seasons. After four months of spring, we finally arrived in our month of summer. The family and I took full advantage of the warm and dry weather. Here are a few photos from last weekend.

There have been a few questions on the origin of our team's name, Fiestavus. The clever will quickly note that it is simply a play on the famous Seinfeld piece called Festivus. If the story ended there, well it would be admittedly lame. However the roots of the name lay deep in Kazakhstan.

Many moons ago, in 2005, I sent two of my best friends an email. It read as follows, "Any plans for next summer? www.mongolrally.com". It was a shot in the dark, I never expected anyone to respond.

I had heard about the Rally through snowboarding sources and had become completely enthralled in the idea of the epic journey, a road trip void of any competitive influences and ripe with adventure. The Mongol Rally was born from the idle hands of some adventurous British college students. At the close of a semester in Prague, they reckoned the craziest thing they could do was drive to Mongolia. They were unsuccessful in reaching Ulan Bator but triumphed in the search for adventure. Their tale quickly turned into a successful trek with friends from London to Mongolia and soon thereafter an "organized" charity rally open to the public.

Good morning Focus Fans,

This is Seth from Fiestavus. I have been lurking here for awhile but didn't want to bust in with a "Hey I am new here and just won a Fiesta." I have a lot of respect for people with the passion and dedication to be true car enthusiats and gearheads. I would like to call myself one but truth be told I have slipped and touting anything gearhead related would be a disservice to you. That said for this community I will give a bit of a car centric bio.
